Using a blend of both colours imported from the scan and colours generated in Processing. This helps give a bit more definition to the shape.

The original Processing render. Can anyone code for Processing a zoom-in/ multiplier screen-capture like the one built into meshlab? It would be great to have these renders hi-res for preview purposes. Perhaps you need to call ortho() (so that the 3D shape doesn’t warp on translate) and then zoom/ translate to multiple tile views, each time saving pixel arrays and then finally stitching them all together into one hi-res png or jpeg.

An unexpected glitch occurred when I opened a .dae file that incorrectly loaded the texture file (1st image in black). So I tested out other texture file malfunctions including misalignment (2nd image), loading a ‘blank’ texture file, which in fact is that vernacular grey chessboard default (3rd). The correctly working .dae file is last for comparison.

New algorithm to slice, polar array (loop/repeat) and fuse 3D scans produces very alien results. Here are some done with a power ranger toy. The last one I can’t remember what it was, but it has also been smoothed.
